Futures Family Mediation was set up by me, Paul Richardson, in 2023.

I have been in family law since 2005, qualifying as a solicitor in 2010 and working as a family mediator since 2015. I have specialised in all aspects of family law including divorce, finances, children, and property disputes between unmarried couples.

Practising as a solicitor, I soon became concerned about how costly family law advice and proceedings were becoming. Client care has always been important to me, and part of this involves trying to help clients in the most affordable way.

In 2015, I took the decision to train as a family mediator with Resolution, to help separating couples resolve issues together and save the cost, time and stress associated with Court proceedings.

I became a fully accredited, all issues, family mediator in 2018 and ever since have continued to help parties reach amicable proposals regarding divorce, financial and children matters.

Family Mediator

In my capacity as a family mediator, I am not able to provide legal advice.  However, having nearly 20 years of experience in family law means that I am able to provide invaluable assistance to separating couples.  I can provide clear information about the alternatives should mediation not be considered and the costs this could incur, as well as information on the types of issues a Court would take into consideration.

I have worked with hundreds of individuals and couples of all ages and backgrounds and understand the emotions they are going through. I am therefore able to adopt both a professional and understanding approach to the process.

I set up Futures Family Mediation with the aim of utilising my skills and experience in family law, to offer people the chance to resolve their issues in an amicable, balanced and cost-effective manner.

I understand it is important for each of you to want to reach a fair outcome whilst ensuring you both feel heard and have your say. Where the issues involve children, I will make sure they are at the forefront of all discussions and remind you that you are working together for the best interests of your children.
